The field was small with paddlers seemingly ,slowly getting their motivation into gear, except Gavin “Thunderbolt” White who flew around the course as if there were no grass and the canals were deep. Good to see Teulings back on the water, no doubt the slow prep for his annual Berg River Challenge. Some patches of irritating grass on the Canals need to be addressed before the next TT.
Mike Monson had a grey moment and forgot about the “white buoy” turn around point on the last lap, which did not help his time . Francoise’s chivalrous deed of assisting a swimming paddler did his time no good. All in all a good start to the TT season with the Diva Cuisine chicken dish being the cherry on top.
