A strong South Easter greeted the small bunch of paddlers. Tom Thring took a swim before the start pre empting what was awaiting the paddlers on the course. Great to see Evelyn back on the water with Hubby, Jack and Caspian cheering her on from the banks. Pinkney and Tom dominated the front of the time trial. the slow times were a result of the strong wind and patches of grass still to be cleared and lower water levels.
Great to see three new ladies at the Club Braai , Joy Davies, June Burgers and Janet Brown. (The J Team) They are starting out as novices and we hope to see them on the water as regular paddlers.
On a sad closing note it was Krizstina and Balu’s final paddle with us as they are returning to Hungary to start a new chapter in their lives. They will be sorely missed by all at the Club.
We wish them well and travel safely.
